Kesslers dispatched twelve account directors and designers as an exploration committee to spend two days at EuroShop, the world’s number one retail trade fair, seeking out the best in innovations, displays, technology and in-store experience, to ensure that Kesslers continues to lead the industry with innovative and creative ideas for their customers.
113,000 visitors were in attendance, representing 138 countries, all keen to see what the latest trends would be to dominate the retail sector in the coming months. There was a real diversity of stands among the 2368 exhibitors, each demonstrating flair in one of the seven key sectors housed across the 127,000m² of event halls.
The team found some really innovative ideas and materials which could be incorporated into future projects and design concepts for their retail and brand customers. Some themes really stood out for the group, such as fabric light boxes and augmented displays, interactive technology for in-store and shop windows and automated and more efficient checkout experiences.
We walked an average 12 miles each day, so we enjoyed a pit stop at the POPAI seminars to listen to some nifty ideas for enhancing the customer experience, from the ice cube that lets the bartender know when a glass is empty to the self-driving trolley that plots the most efficient shopping route.
On the Tuesday evening, Kesslers were pleased to host an evening in a Hausbraueri in the old town, sampling classic Düsseldorf beer and pork sandwiches. It was enjoyable to see so many familiar faces together, unwinding after a long day at the fair. The event was a real success and everyone welcomed the opportunity to share their best finds of the day with a great group of experienced industry friends.
As people departed the exhibition on Wednesday, there was a huge reminder that the next event is scheduled for February 2020, so the Kesslers team hopes to see more of you then for a few more days exploring the future of retailing!
