Retail Design Expo 2017

Retail Design Expo 2017 has come to an end and we would like to offer you an insight into our experience, as well as thank all of you for taking the time to come and see us in the Visitor Lounge, which Kesslers were sponsoring for the very first time.

We always enjoy meeting new people and catching up with clients, so the team enjoyed the relaxed environment and the array of people that visited the Lounge. Visitors appreciated the complimentary refreshments and using the spaces for meetings and briefing our sales and design teams on exciting new projects.

Our speaker, Matt Lyons, who is a friend to the business, gave a speech on “Designing tomorrow’s next retail experience”, which was very informative and well received by the standing-room-only audience. He touched on topical subjects, including “understanding consumer’s current retail motivations and future aspirations” and further developed these ideas, talking about omni-channel and his view on how the retail world is changing.

Our ‘Kesslers Avenue’ showcase display was made from sections which were hand drawn by one of our talented senior designers and assembled by our Sample Shop engineers; we were proud to have an interesting talking point for visitors. We used cutting edge tech to break up the stunning contemporary stand and truly let our creativity shine.

The display hosted miniature versions of units that we have created throughout the years, alongside a selection of materials that we use to create our innovative retail and brand displays. On the other side we had a Virtual Reality area, which gave customers a great demonstration of how this technology can be used to visualise a store environment before manufacture, review store layouts or try new ideas with focus groups.

We were delighted to partner with LumicoDesign, who recreated Cheltenham’s new Yankee Candle store for people to virtually experience. Visitors loved playing in the store environment and were amazed by the setting and realistic details. Over one hundred people experienced the VR over the two days and each really appreciated the benefits of its use.
