A State of the Art Plant in Stratford

The company again outgrew its premises and moved to a larger plant in Warton Road, Stratford, East London in 1970. Here the increase in space facilitated the latest manufacturing techniques and plastics, wood and steel could all be used within the plant. The mould shop expanded to 12 machines going up to 700 tonnes. The range of plastics grew and included general purpose polystyrene, ABS, polypropylene, polythene, polycarbonate and acrylics. Helped by the UK joining the Common Market (EU) the export side of Kesslers was established and reflected in the change of name to Kesslers International Ltd. Willie's sons George and Charles joined the business in the mid 1970s.
