2008

The International Team at Lucite International/Perspex
came to Kesslers International’s offices on 12th June
2008 to speak on “An Approach to Environmental
Responsibility, Past, Present and Future” within the
Plastics and Acrylics industry.
Background Information
Lucite International is a global leader in design, development
and manufacture of acrylic-based products. The driving force behind
two of the Worlds best known materials brands Lucite® and
Perspex®
Perspex Distribution Ltd was created as a wholly owned
subsidiary of Lucite International - owners of the prestigious
Perspex® from Lucite® brand - to specialise in the distribution of
Perspex® acrylic sheet in the UK.
International Team
With their combined years of over 55 years in the
industry both general manager Clive Makin and technology manager
Simon Davies enlightened us with their approach to sustainability
issues concerning the environment. Clive and Simon were supported
by Keith Piggott and Craig Dodson from Perspex Distribution.
The Seminar
Clive and Simon spoke on their approach to
recycling on their process technologies. When talking on
Environmental Responsibilities it was mentioned that ‘we don’t just
want a solution for today, we want something that is going to
last’.

a sustainable product is produced that is durable with a long
life.
• There is an intensive Acrylic recycling
programme employed in the Industry and at Lucite
International/Perspex, where the form is broken down into its
original raw material and reused.
